Cosmetics and Acne

Written by naturalalternative.net

Most of the women suffering from acne do not know whether to use cosmetics, what type of cosmetics to use or how to use them? It is not possible to describe all the cosmetics that should be used and those that should not be used in a single article. However, here are some basic guidelines for the use of cosmetics on acne infected skin.

Foundation

Mostly women use heavy foundation to cover up the acne pimples and scars especially ihe beauticians in the parlor. It can hide your scars and can make pimples less visible. But it is not really a good practice as heavy foundation can make acne severe. So instead of using heavy foundation, use a darker shade of foundation because it can also make pimples and scars less unnoticeable without having to apply heavy foundation. Also, non-greasy camouflage type of foundation dont does much harm to acne. So, always use non-greasy foundation with a darker shade on acne skin.

Moisturizing creams

There are a number of moisturizing creams available in market. Though that can improve wrinkles but they can make acne worse because of their oily nature. So, if you have an oily skin, you don't need to have any moisturizing cream. If you want to use one, try different brands and see how they work on your skin. And when you use them, you can use a small amount in water emulsion.

Lipsticks

Lipsticks usually do not have any bad effect on acne because you can cant have pimples on your lips. You can use any type and colour of lipstick but just be a bit careful if you have any pimple just under your lips. Just don't touch the pimple with the lipsticks.

Eye makeup

Eye shades and other eye makeup also don't have and effect on acne like lipstick because you cannot also have acne on your eye region. Similarly, powders and perfumes also don't do any harm to acne.

Hair

Do not use hair oils or conditioners if you have acne pimples on your forehead. If you have acne then you might also have dandruff in your hair as acne and dandruff are quite interdependent. Both are due to excess sebum production. So, using a good antidandruff shampoo is good not only for dandruff but also for acne.
