Aromatherapy Helps Reduce Coughing

Written by naturalalternative.net

Aromatherapy is often used to relax and calm us when we are having a bad day or just don't feel well. Another great thing that it can be used for is helping to cure any problems that you have with coughing.

Coughing can be caused by colds, smoking, and allergies. No matter what the reason is you will find that mixing using the right oils for aromatherapy will help to reduce any irritation and thin out the mucus in your throat and to get rid of the phlegm in your lungs.

Remember when using these aromatherapies to place them in a bowl, put your face over the bowl, and to cover your head with a towel. This will make sure that you are getting the full effect.

All of the aromatherapies below should be mixed with a pot of steaming water.

Eucalyptus - Mix 10 drops of eucalyptus oil and 3 drops of hyssop oil.
Thyme - 10-15 drops of thyme oil.
Jasmine - 10 drops of jasmine oil.
Peppermint - Mix 3 diluted drops of peppermint oil, 1 tsp of carrier oil (sweet almond, olive, or jojoba). (you can also rub this on your chest)
Pine - 10 drops of pine oil.
